Harree Update

July 1, 2009

We picked Harree up from the hospital Monday morning and took him to our vets. Everyone was surprised by his rapid improvement and the vet was cautiously optimistic. We were able to take him home with the instructions to keep him isolated, feed him a special diet, give him a potassium supplement, and keep him on antibiotics as the vet suspected he got an infection from the catheter at the hospital.

Monday I stayed home and watched him. He was acting more like himself but his energy levels were still low. He started sneezing, and his ears were warm so I think he was running a fever.

He has been getting progressively better though. I think his fever has subsided and he has more energy. He’s been very good about staying in his isolation room, taking his meds, and eating his special food.

He will go to the vet again tomorrow to recheck his bloodwork.
